I couldn't agree more with you. It is disturbing..I *was* one of those kids who would get up and leave the table just because someone "different" sat down. Growing up in a small town I think really helps with realizing we are all human. Where as in a bigger school, people go by appearance. I think the fact that being in a small school and almost HAVING to get to know everyone in order to stay sane helps a lot.
